Value Chain Development

We strengthen horticultural value chains by connecting producers to reliable markets and improving the efficiency of the systems between farm and buyer. 

Through the Sustainable Development Goals Partnership (SDGP) in Rwanda, we worked with a consortium of partners to increase potato value chain efficiency in the Great Lakes region, training over 33,000 farmers and supporting hundreds of cooperatives to raise yields and improve market access.

Our Approach: From Skills to Economic Impact;

We apply a structured pathway: 

Farmer training → Good agricultural practices → Quality inputs → Cooperative strengthening → Market access → Regional value chain growth.

We offer;

  • Farmer Field Days as a practical training format.
  • Consortium partnerships combining technical, financial and market expertise (Holland Greentech, HFF, Agriterra, Delphy, Money Phone, SPF).
  • Support to cooperatives and farmer groups.
  • Promotion of quality inputs and improved practices.

  • Support to 352 cooperatives and farmers groups, strengthening organised, collective employment in the value chain.

  • Over 50% increase in yield among participating farmers.
  • More than 33,000 farmers trained across 832 Farmer Field Days.

  • 4,373 hectares farmed using eco efficient methods.
  • Improved use of quality inputs and good agricultural practices.

 Our Added Value

We bring together technical, financial and market actors in one consortium model, so that improvements in farming practice translate directly into functioning, profitable value chains rather than isolated productivity gains.
